There is an innate sadness in the knowledge that freedom comes at a cost. No more is the fact evident than in the histories of Ireland and the United States. Most certainly it can come through in music.
This recording is enjoyable - as all Danny's recordings are. However, it is also calculated to make the listener stop and think and maybe even give thanks. Wrapped in the varied tunes are tons of feelings - all of which go to heroes, and freedom and justice.
